POLAR BEAR AND GRIZZLY HATS...AND A SECOND CHANCE FOR PEGGY!

Hello everyone! With a bit of excitement I am about to write my first real post and show you one of my works: two teddy bear hats, a gift for two twins. I made them following the tutorial published in the third issue of the Peggy Journal magazine, which I will tell you about in this post.

As soon as I saw this photo I fell in love with it and had no doubts about what to give my little cousins. I used about a ball and a half of DMC Myboshi wool, in the colors Ocre and Ivory . The explanations in the magazine are clear but there is a problem with the size of the hat: following the tutorial, designed for a six-month-old baby, I found myself with a hat for an adult and with a shape that was definitely too pointy! After several attempts I decided to give up and change the pattern... and here is the result! I find them very cute and I'm thinking of making one for myself too!

And now let's talk a little about Peggy Journal! Most of you will surely know this magazine that has been talked about a lot in the last few months...so I won't go into a long description but I will try to draw conclusions after the first issues.

I was immediately won over by the cover, with its colors, fonts and matte paper. Inside, the topics range from knitting and crochet to creative sewing, from recipes to simple DIY, without neglecting home decor and shopping tips. The photos are very beautiful and the projects do not have an "old" feel, which is definitely not a given. The idea of referring to the video tutorials on the YouTube channel , with more in-depth explanations, is also nice. In short, despite the inaccuracies found in the hat tutorial, I recommend this magazine, which is definitely full of ideas and inspiration!

There was a need for a new magazine, modern and all Italian, dedicated to the growing handmade panorama and creativity. I also find it nice to be able to browse real pages, instead of looking for ideas on the internet or in foreign magazines!

After the initial enthusiasm, I have to make some criticisms. One negative point is definitely the difficult availability: at each newsstand, a maximum of a couple of copies are delivered and it is not yet possible to subscribe, forcing readers to race against time to secure theirs before everyone else. Another shortcoming is the delay in publication, with the failure to respect the bimonthly frequency. In fact, there is no news of the fourth issue, which was scheduled for release in March. Despite the continuous requests for information from readers on the Facebook page, the editorial staff is silent. Punctuality and greater communication with readers are therefore the points on which we could work and improve. I hope, however, that Peggy's adventure is not over here, but that she will soon return to inspire us with her beautiful pages... I will certainly give her a second chance!
